The Educational Foundation of Orinda (EFO) is an essential funding partner with Orinda's K–12 schools. We underwrite many of the enrichment and academic programs that make our schools so special. We reach EVERY child with opportunities to explore, create, problem solve, observe, connect and otherwise prepare for the world outside.

Monies come from parents like you and community members who recognize that state funding alone is not enough to provide the kind of educational excellence that we want for your children.

Since 1979, EFO has stepped in to help fill the state funding gap. Thanks to strong community-wide support, we have become a leader among K–12 educational non-profits, setting the standard for fundraising and accountability.

Today EFO, together with Parents' Clubs, our local parcel tax, and other local revenue sources, now underwrites 34% of the Orinda Union School District (OUSD) budget. We are also the largest voluntary funding source for Miramonte High School, giving over half a million dollars annually.  This collaboration is essental to the success of our schools.

Our fundraising goal this year is $1.4 million in support of OUSD and Miramonte, with monies directed to school libraries, music and art education, vocal and instrumental music instruction, electives and special student programs, counseling services, and living history at the Wagner Ranch Nature Area.
