As of July 1st, 2020, the Educational Foundation of Orinda (EFO) has joined with all six Orinda schools' Parents' Clubs to form a new fundraising organization, ONE Orinda. For more information, visit www.oneorinda.org.
Prior to July 2020, The Educational Foundation of Orinda (EFO) was a non-profit organization dedicated to providing financial support for quality educational and enrichment programs for EVERY student enrolled in Orinda’s public schools.
Established in 1979, EFO became a leader among educational non-profits, setting the standard for fundraising and accountability. Working in partnership with the Orinda Union School District (OUSD) and Miramonte High School, EFO stepped in where state funding left off, keeping our schools academically sound and nationally competitive.
EFO was composed of dedicated parents and community members with a shared belief in our mission and that our schools are our community’s greatest assets. Each Orinda school wass represented on the EFO Board of Directors. Together with a professional Executive Director, our enthusiastic volunteers brought a multitude of talents in support of EFO's fundraising efforts across school, community and business segments.
EFO’s annual budget for Orinda schools was developed collaboratively with OUSD and Miramonte through a yearly prioritization process and in accordance with our funding guidelines. The budget served as the basis for our fundraising campaign goal which was $1.690 million for the 2019-2020 school year.
