Legacy Society and Planned Giving
The Educational Foundation of Orinda Legacy Society is an honorary association of individuals whose planned gifts have already been received or will someday accrue to EFO.
Planned gifts include bequests made through testamentary devices such as wills, retirement plans, and revocable trusts, as well as lifetime gifts that provide income payments to donors and their beneficiaries. Life income gifts such as charitable gift annuities and charitable remainder trusts typically involve present-day transfers of gift assets, immediate tax advantages, and continuing income streams to the donor with future distributions to EFO for its specific charitable purposes.
Charitable lead trusts can also offer significant tax advantages to the donor and reliable streams of charitable income to EFO.
In addition to outright gifts to EFO’s annual campaign, gifts may be made to EFO’s Funds Functioning as Endowment. Gifts to EFO’s Funds Functioning as Endowment provide an opportunity to help EFO for generations to come.
Regardless of the method or the amount of the gift planning arrangement, EFO is deeply grateful to each and every member of the Legacy Society and especially appreciative of his/her thoughtful commitment to EFO’s mission for the students of Orinda’s public schools.
We would be delighted to confer upon you all of the benefits of membership in the Legacy Society. In addition to the philanthropic and potential tax benefits derived from EFO bequests, Legacy Society members receive invitations to special EFO events and are recognized in EFO’s Annual Report.
To become a member of the EFO Legacy Society, please submit the Bequest Intention Form.
