Miramonte High School

At Miramonte High School, EFO funding enables students to take advantage of smaller core academic classes and to pursue an array of enriching electives, while preparing for college and life beyond Miramonte.

With a commitment of $535,000 for 2019-2020, EFO remains the largest voluntary funding source at Miramonte. This year, EFO will fund 14 class periods, helping to preserve the 7-period day at Miramonte and allowing greater scheduling flexibility and access to Advanced, Honors and AP classes. EFO funding also supports Visual and Performing Arts classes (public speaking, drama, instrumental music, chorus, art, photography and video production), which would be eliminated without EFO. Besides academic classes, EFO continues to support student programs, such as the library, wellness center, and counseling for at-risk students.

“Students benefit from your generous support of EFO in our Public Speaking program every day!  Thanks to EFO, students utilize digital resources, receive specialized coaching, and compete in prestigious tournaments.  EFO empowers 150 students at Miramonte to develop critical thinking skills and to speak their truth, making Miramonte Public Speaking one of the premier speech and debate programs in the country!”
~ Kristen Plant Teacher and Head Coach of Miramonte Public Speaking, MHS Class of 1996
